Music for the Whole Family- “KING PAJAMA”
When my daughter was a toddler I signed up for a program called Music Together. Mothers and sometimes Fathers would bring their children to a loft in Chelsea and we would sing catchy songs, play games and eat handfuls of goldfish. Their belief is that all children are musical(even (if their parents are completely tone-deaf). Finding Music that your child will love and won’t drive you absolutely insane is an ambitious task. Recently, I went to a concert on the lower east side and heard an incredibly talented band. The Lead singer Nina Zeitlin, with her rich and smokey voice has joined forces with Jason and Jena Blechman. They have created a unique collection of songs on their CD entitled KING PAJAMA for children. The songs are funny, edgy, easy to sing a long with and have interesting melodies that aren’t reminiscent of Barney and Mr. Rogers. Check out the website….you can purchase a CD for your friends and family! There will be a whole lotta dancin’ going on!!
