Fasten your seatbelt!
I took the train home last week to visit my Mom. She is a young 67 year old. Still filled with boundless energy and a genuine love for life and Oprah. She promptly picked me up at the New Haven train station wearing an enormous smile and blasting Alicia Keys new song on the radio. My Mother has been serenading me since I was an infant, so this was not out of the ordinary. As we pulled out of the station, I noticed she didn’t look for oncoming traffic or even glance at the traffic light. I quickly fastened my seat-belt and turned off the radio. I listened as she shared stories about her neighbors, our family and then I noticed that she was looking at me while she was talking. I screamed; “MOM! What are you doing, watch the Road!” She just laughed and said “You are just too accustomed to taxi drivers taking you to your destination.” She smirked and said, “Honey, it’s a whole lot different in the back seat!”
