Teenagers need more SLEEP
Many high-schools start too early. Students often have to be in their first class by 7:40 a.m. This means that alarms are set for 6:00 am or earlier depending on the commute. Then the vast quantity of homework, after-school activities, social life, face-booking and other extraneous personal activities prevent teens from going to sleep before Midnight. My daughter stays up till 1:00 am almost every night of the week. Negotiating with a moody, sleep deprived, miserable teenager is not the way to start your day. Though we want to honor their autonomy, we also want them to get at least 8hours of sleep , though the experts recommend more. So, please share some ideas in regard to better sleep habits!
